My only disagree with you would be:
Obama won not only in 2008 when the media relentlessly went after Bush and people were being told by the New Speaker of the House and the new Senate Majority Leader that “the war in Iraq was lost”, but much to my surprise he won again in 2012 when the dems were beaten badly in 2010.
My only conclusion is there are now enough idiots who vote in Presidential elections to forever give the vote to bleeding heart democrats and celebrities forever.
At least they do not vote in off year elections, so we can build up conservative numbers in Congress this Fall.
But seriously, I think the presidency is gone forever. Trump could turn out to be the best we can get. Otherwise, say hello to Madame President Clinton.

Yeah, can’t argue with that. I was surprised too. And, we have passed the tipping point where there are “more people riding in the wagon than pulling the wagon”. Getting free stuff as I saw a lady say on tv during the 2020 election cycle. So, you may be right about having lost the presidency. If Hillary runs I think she will win because there are Republican women who will covertly (lie about it) pull the handle for her.
