I agree with you. There is an all out war on the best men, the ones who have made their way up the ranks (before the Clinton years). Since then, many of the Clinton elite have been waiting in the wings and now they are being put into the positions of power. Ideology trumps military expertise.

While there is undoubtedly going to be a lot of shakedown in the ranks simply due to budget cuts and a transition to a bargain-basement peacetime (re: prewar and ineffective) military, one should always be conscious that the left’s hatred of the military is partly due to the realization that loyal members of the military have held off socialist revolutions in a number of countries.
Progressives realize that if they want to radically transform the nation they need to FIRST remove society’s final safety valves - a moral and upright military and an armed citizenry.
The leftists aren’t going to soon forget what an effective force patriots in the military can be. The Spanish civil war and Pinochet’s Chile stand as warning signs to radical socialist revolutionaries everywhere. They’ll make damn sure they gut the military and install their own political officers before the social revolution gets off the ground.

I’d suspect that also. I can find no indication that Colonel Angela Cadwell (the commander who fired the two officers) has a (male) husband—and I suspect she has a certain agenda that the two fired men did not share.
