The way for Ukraine to upgrade its military equipment, it seems to me, would be for the US to supply it with sophisticated weaponry, with which to repel the Russian invaders. (In fact, we have a lot of equipment we are just leaving in Afghanistan.)
State-of-the-art tanks and sophisticated warplanes could do a great deal to deter Moscow. Sadly, however, I do not expect these to be forthcoming from President Obama, despite his overheated rhetoric (and that of his Secretary of State).

We are about 50 steps in escalation from arming the Ukrainians. Putin invaded Ukraine outside of the Crimea yesterday and the response today from obama was a travel ban on 10 Russians. The kenyan won’t send arms to the Ukrainians. Ever. It’s not in his DNA.
Since we invaded Pakistan and killed Osama, that route isn't open any more.
Lets not start another land war in Asia till we find out a way to supply our guys currently there.
Serious question: Repel the Russian invaders from where? They’re sitting in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine. The only repelling that would need to be done is if Putin moves to take all of the Ukraine. Otherwise, I don’t understand how they could “repel” the Russians from Crimea. All the could try to do is kick them out.
Nah, Obama needs that leftover equipment to use on the streets of the US to get the Tea Party in line with the NWO!
