That is how we got Jimmy Carter.
He was a "nuclear physicist," like Obama was a "constitutional law professor," and, not being a typical politician, he was supposed to be able to provide real world solutions to the country's problems.
People may have said something similar about Herbert Hoover, "the Great Engineer," but at least he had years of cabinet experience.
He was a "nuclear physicist" like Obama was a "constitutional law professor."...
As I remember it, the first statement was a mistake that the press made early on. It was established that Carter did qualify as a nuclear engineer. Of course, Obama obviously was not a qualified law professor.
Jimmah was a governor. He, at least, had had executive experience.Don’t know about Hoover. I think we need more people with broad experience in their fields — people who know people and can work with them effectively, and can judge their capabilities, decide what’s needed and figure a path to get there. Anyhow, Obama hasn’t come up with a single useful idea of his own for the economy, race relations, getting people better and cheaper healthcare or finding them employment. He’s just an old-school socialist. Nothing new there.
