Senators Cruz and Cornyn Introduce Fort Hood Bill [Sep 12, 2013]

(KCEN) -- Texas Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz introduce the Honoring the Fort Hood Heroes Act.

The bill will to reclassify the 2009 Fort Hood shooting rampage as an act of terror and provide more benefits for victims and their family.

Victims and relatives have complained that the U.S. Government wrongly categorized the attacks as workplace violence.

The bill would provide life insurance, tax breaks for death in a combat zone and other combat-related pay.

Last month, Nidal Hasan was sentenced to death for the attack on Fort Hood that left 13 people dead and dozens of others hurt.

Rank treachery to American armed forces is what it was, and still is. Our troops are in harm's way in their own bunks, it seems to me. Places that should be safe are no longer secure. All in the vain conceit of being broad-minded and culturally sensitive enough to include Muslims "equally" in the ranks.

In my mind, ANY “Gun Free Zone” is a potential killing field.

I certainly never knew until this happened that there weren’t armed personnel on every base in this country that could stop a killer like this freak before he did so much damage.

I also think that if it were widely known that there were armed guards on every military base, at all times, this would never be a problem.
