CHICAGO (AP) - Best-selling author Kevin Trudeau, whose name became synonymous with late-night TV pitches, was sentenced to 10 years in prison Monday for bilking consumers through ubiquitous infomercials for his book, "The Weight Loss Cure 'They' Don't Want You to Know About."
As he imposed the sentence prosecutors had requested, U.S. District Judge Ronald Guzman portrayed the 50-year-old Trudeau as a habitual fraudster going back to his early adulthood. So brazen was Trudeau, the judge said, he once even used his own mother's Social Security number in a scheme.
... defense attorney Tom Kirsch said the harm Trudeau caused was minor compared to fraud in which some people are cheated out of their life savings. …"A 10-year sentence might be appropriate for a defendant who destroyed lives," Kirsch said. "(But) Trudeau - if he swindled anyone - swindled them out of $30 (the price of the book)."

CHICAGO — A judge in Chicago has released Kevin Trudeau from jail after the infomercial pitchman spent the night behind bars for violating court orders to pay a more than $37 million fine.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that as Judge Robert Gettleman freed the 50-year-old, he warned Trudeau he’s on a “tight leash” and could be jailed again next week.
Trudeau insists he’s penniless and can’t pay the fine that stems from allegedly false claims made in his weight-loss book.
A court-appointed receiver told the judge that Trudeau insists he can’t remember basic aspects about his assets, including which banks some of his accounts are in.
To counter Trudeau’s claim he’s destitute, Federal Trade Commission lawyers Wednesday presented evidence he’s spent $920 on cigars and $359 on two haircuts.

Heard on the radio tonight that a bunch of Philadelphia politicians of a certain color were caught red handed accepting bribes ....lots of documentation...and some new state attorney general had thrown the case out saying it’s “racist”.

Trudeau’s activities have been the subject of both criminal and civil action. He was convicted of larceny and credit card fraud in the early 1990s, and in 1998 he was sued by U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for making false or misleading claims in infomercials promoting his book The Weight-Loss Cure “They” Don’t Want You to Know About. In 2004, he settled that action, by agreeing to pay a $500,000 fine and consenting to a lifetime ban on promoting products other than his books via infomercials.
On Nov. 29, 2011, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a $37.6 million fine levied against him for violating that 2004 settlement. Additionally, on remand, the district court modified its final order, requiring that he post a $2 million bond before engaging in future infomercial advertising. In April 2013 he was reported to have filed for bankruptcy to avoid fines and stay further Federal prosecution.
In September and October 2013, he was twice briefly jailed for continued failure to pay fines related to his conviction, pleading poverty while continuing to live a lavish lifestyle. In November 2013, Trudeau was convicted of criminal contempt and incarcerated. On March 17, 2014, Trudeau was sentenced to 10 years in jail stemming for his November 2013 conviction of criminal contempt.
Corzines son killed himself last week and the arse kissing Corzine got was unreal. Not his son, HIM. Hey he only stole $1.6 BILLION but let’s kiss HIS arse not his son who probably went through hell being related to that subhuman piece of pig filth.

The time has come. I get sentenced Monday, March 17th. The hearing starts at 2pm Chicago time. It will be an interesting day to say the least. The government will tell the Judge how horrible a person I am. They will call me a liar, a con man, a fraudster, motivated by greed, and say every bad thing that they can say about me. They will say the Weight Loss Cure book is totally worthless. They will say every book, cd program, and seminar I ever produced is worthless and full of lies. They will show private personal email excerpts to and from my wife, and several female friends. I ask for forgiveness to those who may be embarrassed by the Government showing those emails. Please love and support those innocent people that the Government tries to hurt and embarrass, and send love (do not be angry or upset) to those from the Government who are showing the private emails. The emails may show the roller coaster range of emotions I have personally dealt with while I have been incarcerated. They will show me as being human. As you know, negative emotions tell you that your alignment is off. When I first got here, I experienced them all...sadness, loneliness, fear, anxiety etc. I used those emotions to correct my thinking and get back into alignment, which is always a work in progress. You always feel the most intense emotions with those who are close to you, with me it is my wife. I have done much venting with her via email and let a lot out! She has been so supportive. They will take everything out of context to make me look as bad as possible. Imagine having someone say half truths and lies about you, constantly saying horrible things about you. Some of you know what it feels like if you went through a nasty divorce. It can be very painful. It can make you mad, depressed, and want to lash out. Because you know what is being said about you is not true, or distorted, taken out of context or misleading.
What I will do at sentencing is sit there, and send them all unconditional love. I will turn the other cheek. It is easy to love someone who loves you. You need to love people WITHOUT condition. You need to love people when they HATE you, lie about you, say horrible things about you, try to hurt you, and attack you. (even though it can be painful and embarrassing) You can be kind to people who are kind to you, and be kind to people who are unkind to you, ONLY IF kindness is your nature. I am working on making unconditional love and kindness my nature, more and more each day. Monday will be a wonderful day for me, as I get to show (energetically) my true nature, which is becoming more unconditional loving than ever, and totally accepting without condition. (a constant work in progress!) I will turn the other cheek. I am human, thus I am flawed, as we all are. I have made mistakes in the past and I take responsibility for all my actions. I am still learning and still the student. Yet I know God (Source, the Universe) unconditionally loves and accepts me even with my weaknesses, flaws, and mistakes. I will be sentenced by Judge Guzman. Whatever the sentence it, I will be thankful. I know the Universe (God) will allow me to be free from prison at the perfect time for my highest good. Today I am at peace. Monday, no matter what happens and no matter what the sentence is, I will still be at peace, because peace is my nature.(still a work in progress!) Evidently the authorities did and, based upon a fair trial, they considered it enough of a fraud to send this fraudster back to jail. Again.
And by the way, if I remember correctly, they let him out for good behavior under the condition that keep making his restitution payments. He stopped, claiming he couldn’t, but managed to spend tens of thousands of dollars living it up.
So why are you coming to this convict’s defense?

This issue isn’t whether a fraudster, who was convicted before for similar charges, should be in jail for 10 years.
The issue is that we should be sending all fraudsters to jail, including those connected with the DNC and TPTB.
