However,I'm still struggling with how anyone ( and others here have expressed the same viewpoint as yours) can so easily advocate throwing away lives and equipment, to no end.

I merely posed the question,"So they should just roll over and do nothing?"

I don't know what would be the best strategy at this point. I was responding to what appeared to me to be a suggestion to roll over to Russian aggression.
