I guess it’s time for the Dems to recruit a Libertarian to run a third party spoiler campaign.

well FRiend Russ, i don’t subscribe to the notion that libertarians (or moderates as i call them), take more as a rule from a conservative candidate then the leftist. for instance, the libertarian apparently took 5% in that recent florida special in a reportedly evenly split district (obama won 51/49), leaving the rep with 48 and the dem with 46.

i suppose that a moderate republican could lose support via a libertarian candidate since they are really birds of a feather. but as a conservative, i’d rather lose that kind of republican anyway.

most of the libertarians i know would never support a true conservative (being leftists or “moderates” at heart). i find that they tend to take their support from the dem when there is a libertarian against a true conservative in the race.
