To the elitists, Socialism is only for “The Little People”, it doesn’t apply to them.
Ya. Evil isn’t it.
I agree. Being an as*hole subtracts several points from a female’s attractiveness.
“...She IS hot....”
Eh. Typical interchangeable, completely replaceable lib.
I mean, yeah... it’s tappable, but hard to get past the overall insanity beneath the facade.
(Yeah I know... mean ol’ cuss, ain’t I...?)
I genuinely don’t find her very attractive. Nice gams, but to my eye she has a little Sarah Jessica Parker going on with her face.
I don’t deduct points for politics, for example I find Sarah Silverman attractive even though she is a gigantic Marxist-Obamaist scuzzbucket.
Anyway, it is a shame to see the leftward drift of the Cuban-Americans in recent years. They were one of the very few demos that Obama IMPROVED his performance with from 2008 to 2012. Insanity. I agree with DJ that they deserve a taste of life on the island.
Alexa Vega is my idea of a "hot latina model from Miami" --> http://www.becauseiamfabulous.com/wp-content/uploads/Alexa-Vega-in-Roberto-Cavalli-Machete-Kills-LA-Premiere.jpg (can't believe she's the same girl from the Spy Kids movies!), but alas, she just got married.
>> Yet while Gloria Estefan should be a Republican, she is unaffiliated. And here is her niece, hobnobbing with a communist. <<
I'm pretty sure her better known Aunt Gloria is every bit as leftist as Lili. Though it probably has more to do with the fact that she's in the entertainment business and goes to their cocktail parties than the "leftward drift of the Cuban American community". Gloria Estefan was heaping praise on Obama leading up to the 2012 election and she's vocally pro-gay marriage and recorded a video for the It Gets Better campaign to combat "homophobia". The so-called "socially conservative" Cuban-American community seems pretty supportive.
Looks like Lili Estefan was born here and has never had a taste of life in Cuba.
I’m having a hard time figuring out exactly when Gloria Estefan came here, but per her online bio, she was born in ‘57 in Cuba and was only a year old when Fidel seized power in Jan. ‘59. Her family fled to the United States shortly afterwards and her father served in Vietnam in ‘66, so I doubt she remembers anything of life in Cuba.
That would be just desserts, if these elitist leftists that made millions off capitalism but preach socialism were sent back to Cuba to experience it for themselves. (But to be “bipartisan”, let’s also deport Bush’s RINO Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez back to Cuba)
Gloria Estefan took her husband’s name; this other Estefan (of whom I’ve never heard) must be Emilio Estefan’s niece. I don’t know when Emilio Estefan’s family moved to the U.S., or whether his brother mover there as well, but if Lilli Estefan was born in Cuba as the article states then she must have left the island quite later than 1961 (the peak year of the exodus). Maybe she left in the Mariel boatlift of 1980?

Southern FL needs to be expelled from the rest of the state. It could be the American soil version of Guantanamo Bay in the new USA.
Heh. Given how close some of the recent statewide races were, getting rid of 3 or 4 RAT counties in southern FL would have made a huge difference. I was discussing this with AuH2ORepublican a while back. He says the Cuban-American vote in FL went strongly to Bush in 2000. If so, it couldn't have had much influence on their neighbors in the area since Miami-Dade was one of Gore's best counties and where he was demanding hand recounts.
Probably a lot of the Gore votes came from Jewish transplants from NY (another demographic the GOP deludes themselves into thinking is "in play" every election cycle). I think 2012 was the first time a majority of Cuban-Americans voted RAT (although I imagine they also did in '64 and maybe '74 because those were huge years for the Dems) I'm not sure what other ethnic groups are in southern FL, but whatever the case its heavily RAT. (My parents visited Key West once, came back disgusted and claim its the FL version of San Francisco, but they can't have much population in the keys)
But one issue is that Florida isn't like Illinois where Crook County unilaterally decrees who the rest of the state's politicians will be. There are a number of big population centers in FL, as well as multiple pockets of RAT voters. My relatives are in Orange Co. (Orlando area). I haven't been down there in a decade. I used to think it leaned Republican but it looks like Obama got nearly 60% there in 2012! (Maybe the Disneyworld employees vote RAT?) There's also three RAT counties in the panhandle that are reliably Dem strongholds. Strangely enough, the rarely discussed Jacksonville in northern FL is the biggest city in the state. Surprisingly, the county its in (Duval) appears to be Republican.
In terms of ethnic voting patterns, I'm more alarmed about Asian-Americans voting overwhelmingly RAT. They really don't have the numbers to effect most elections in America, but if there's any minority group that "should be natural Republicans" based on their demographics (college educated, stable two parent families, etc.), its Asians. However, they vote RAT in huge numbers. That doesn't bode well for the GOP's chances in future elections.
