Abandoning a legal battle hard-fought by his predecessor, Mayor de Blasio on Tuesday agreed to have the city shell out more than $100 million to a group of 1,500 minority firefighter applicants who sued over FDNY entrance exams that were found to be biased.
De Blasio made no secret of his desire to settle the controversial case upon taking office in January and the Vulcan Society and its lawyers took full advantage, scoring $98 million out of a $128 million cap on the citys financial exposure.
The generous settlement amount doesnt include at least $3.7 million more the city will be on the hook for in fees to the plaintiffs lawyers.

The “wreckers” are in charge now.
Minimum 60 million for the lawyers.
By the time this commie clown is done, NYC will look like Detroit.
I mean seriously, some of those questions were clearly made to weed out minorities. Like the first one, “Name.”
Lowering the bar for first responders and life savers.
It doesn’t matter if they fail to save lives, as long as they are black when doing it /sarc
Pitiful.
“Like the first one, Name.
And they would write “my mom’s name or my name?”
Not his money he doesn’t care
Yep. They said the same thing in Austin
They aren't very good Vulcans. It is not logical to accuse an exam of racism.
I noticed a Nation of Islam “Romulan” second from right.
I'd love....LOVE,I tell you....to see the wealthy of NYC leave for CT,FL and elsewhere while property values on Central Park West, etc, nosedive under Comrade De Blasio.
Bring the 1970's back to NYC...a time when, among other things, junkies shooting up in Central Park was a common occurrence.
Racist questions like this
You have 300 ft of hose, friction loss is 10 psi per 100 ft with additional 5 psi per floor above ground
Fire is on third floor
What pressure does pump operator need to have 110 psi at tip
“Like the first one, Name.
Don’t be silly, that question isn’t racist, the racist question they are referring to is “Fathers Name”
Scary reality is, it is firefighters today, it will be our doctors and nurses tomorrow under Obamacare. Expecting a doctor to differentiate between a spleen, and a liver is racist doncha know.
Why is that sarcasm? Seem close to the truth to me.

I guess I’m just still amazed that the message from the black, race baiting community these days has gone from the “Equal rights” motto of the 60’s to the “You can’t expect us to perform like everyone else because we’re black” mantra of today.
Now racism is believing blacks are equal. Assuming they are substandard, underperforming stupid or lazy used to be discouraged, now it’s not only encouraged, it’s litigated.
