Your comments fit with my experience when a youth. My immediate family including aunts and uncles and so on were immigrants who in family gatherings always spoke in Russian. My brother and I most usually were outside enjoying the USA pastimes for boys and to avoid the ‘noise’ of the old folks. My mother always insisted we speak English as being taught to us in a German rooted private school. I had plenty of opportunities to learn to speak Russian but was most often playing with boys of many different language families. We were kind of following the adage ‘that when in the USA public speak English(of your cultural kind)and in your home speak the language of choice). I during my many tears have wished I had taken the opportunity as a youth to learn at least to speak the Russian language.

same with the parents of my folks, as well. from italy and germany.

the difference is they had a mindset where they WANTED to assimilate into the country. they knew they would be altering things, in order to do well here.

the mexicans by and large do NOT want to assimilate. they are here only to work and get social benefits here so that they can send most of what they earn to their HOME COUNTRY. they just want to USE America like a condom and toss it aside when its usefulness is spent.

It’s total selfishness. they only want benefits and money and anything that makes their life easier here. they don’t want to blend in, assimilate and give up some of their identity to become integrated Americans.

the fact they want to carve out atzlan proves it. the fact they send what they earn home to mexico proves it. the fact many don’t even want citizenship but just want to make money here to send back to mexico, proves it.
