Again, by definition, the Founders did not fawn over tyrants like Putin.
It was ours initially.

Which is worse?
Obama is a terrible President, but he was voted into office fair and square.
No opposition leaders have been imprisoned, no critical journalists were murdered, no wealthy funders of the opposition have been exiled or held without trial, no state governors have been forced from office and replaced with unelected federal officials, no soldiers with their insignia concealed have been sent to occupy New Brunswick or British Columbia.
Obama will become an actual tyrant if he tries to hold onto power after his term ends, or if he uses executive orders to suspend civil liberties.
We'll be watching closely.
But there really is no comparison.

Only time will tell. Interesting to look back on these threads in retrospect. As a historian, I believe we are only getting started on unpacking the annexation's significance.
