KIEV: Ukraine's security chief said Wednesday he had instructed the foreign ministry to introduce visas for Russians in response to the Kremlin's claim on its flashpoint Crimea peninsula.

"The foreign ministry has been instructed to introduce a visa regime with the Russian Federation," Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council chief Andriy Parubiy told a televised press conference.

I read somewhere today there are over 3 million Ukrainian gastarbeiters (migrant workers) working in Russia who remit about 5 bln dollars to their families in the Ukraine every year. If the Russians follow suit and introduce visa rgime as well it’ll be a hard blow to the Ukraine’s economy which is already on the brink of collapse.

Looks like those guys in Kiev don’t realize what’s going down...

They are sockpuppets, and the puppeteers could not care less about them except for their usefulness as props.

A joke from Crimea heard from someone who has a friend there and called her a couple of days ago:

Russian troops surround a Crimea military base and demand surrender!

The troops from inside the base respond: “Russians will never surrender!”

Ukraine like Georgia may elect to leave the Commonwealth Of Independent States.

From Kiev’s point of view, no further benefits are to be attained from remaining in it.

Just as Russia can act unilaterally, Ukraine can respond on a reciprocal basis.
