For a lot of voters, pocketbook issues sold them on reunification with Russia.

Every one is expecting a marked improvement in their lives. Not just supporters but also opponents of the Russian annexation.

It remains to be seen the extent to which Russia will be able to keep its promises.

“It remains to be seen the extent to which Russia will be able to keep its promises.”

Oh yes, they can. The balance sheet is of $200 billion surpluss (some $580 billion export versus $350 billion import), so they can afford spending 2-3% of it on Crimea.

Russia will also start soon the building of a 3 mile long bridge between the peninsula and the mainland at Kerch (the extreme eastern point), estimated at $3 billion. Prime Minister Medvedev signed already the executive order. That will bring new jobs too.

ST. PETERSBURG, March 19 - The bridge across the Kerch Strait to connect Russia with Crimea would be built ahead of the initial schedule of three years following Crimea’s accession to Russia, Russia’s Deputy Transport Minister Sergei Aristov said.

Kerch bridge will be designed for cars and trains. The project worth about $3 billion would be implemented in private-state partnership, he said. On Tuesday, the “Transport Corridor across the Kerch Strait” affiliate of Russian Highways State Company AVTODOR announced a tender for engineering survey for the bridge, which will cost 384 million rubles. More than 10 companies have already snowed interest in the tender. This is the approved project:

Marguerite is a real piece of anti-american trash. Check out this...

“USNATO can still keep the little leaders gnomes like Camerons, Hollandes ank Tusks under their thumb, but the peoples of Europe hate their guts and want only one thing; that the warmongering US, CIA and their Blackwater thugs go back to America and never return. It happened before to hear it, isn’t so? When Charles de Gaulle ordered the evacuation of all US military bases from France, people chanted “Yankees, go home!”.
If you think that Europeans forgot your barbaric bombings in Yugoslavia, you’re deadly wrong. THE LAST THING Europe wants is a shodown with Russia. And for your information, Europe continent ends at Ural Mountains, Moscow, St.Petersburg, Nijni Novgorod and Archangels are European cities! They won’t build Europe against Russia, but WITH Russia. Ukraine IS in Europe, 7,000 miles away from US. I really don’t see how it’s America’s business. Besides, Ukraine isn’t even a member of NATO, they must get the hell out of there.”
