Sen. Rand Paul criticizes Obama, others over domestic spying

BERKELEY, Calif. — Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said Wednesday that President Barack Obama should be particularly wary of domestic spying, given the government’s history of eavesdropping on civil rights leaders like the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., injecting the issue of race into the contentious debate over surveillance.

“I find it ironic that the first African-American president has without compunction allowed this vast exercise of raw power by the NSA,” Paul said in an address at the University of California, Berkeley.

“Certainly J. Edgar Hoover’s illegal spying on Martin Luther King and others in the civil rights movement should give us all pause,” he said. “Now if President Obama were here, he would say he’s not J. Edgar Hoover, which is certainly true. But power must be restrained because no one knows who will next hold that power.”

Paul’s remarks were part of his effort to bring his libertarian brand of conservatism to audiences in less friendly territory for Republicans. Here at a campus that has been a wellspring of U.S. liberalism, he told students he was a defender of the rights they hold dear. He tried to be colloquial and informal.

“I believe what you do on a cellphone is none of their damn business,” Paul said in one of the lines that drew the most applause.

Sen Rand Paul, to get back in my good graces, needs to publicly punch Obuma in his skinny, Marxist face. Paul is getting too close to the criminal Washington DC establishment for my pro-private property libertarian taste.

Given the history of bad behavior of our country? Our government?

Not because it is against the Fourth Amendment?

To a bunch of kids who’ve been taught to despise America for their entire lives?

Who likes this guy?

How is he a conservative? He’s schmoozing the left wing on campus? They laugh at him. They hate America.

The kids here came home with an Advanced Placement English essay practice question which queried, ‘what criteria do you place on your list if constructing a monument?’

How is that an English essay question?

They are given five essays to research from for their answer.

One of the essays is all about how we People of the United States did nothing to assist the Jews in protecting them from Hitler.

The kids here were especially reamed as they had spent the entire second half of eighth grade learning about the holocaust. Traumatized. they don’t want to hear about it any more. Sensitive, normal kids. And after the first half of English class in eighth grade of learning how awful we the people are for allowing slavery - present tense, with all the racial abuse form the black kids in the hall allowed.

Does Senator Paul have a clue? Do any parents have a clue?

Rand Paul, to get back in my good graces has to renounce his Amnesty plan and go back to his old stance of enforcement first pre-2011 and walk back his "Social Conservative Issues" have to take a back-seat stance.

Until then, he's not fit to be POTUS.

Rand Paul has a political compass which has absolutely no bearings. He is a zelig. He is whom people want him to be, until he gets in and does whatever he wants. with no regard for the constitution.

Forget him. Like a 15 year old girl should forget her weird boyfriend
