Young People Don't Change - Neither Does the N.Y. Times. ... Ann Coulter
Ann Coulter Dot Com ^ | 19 Mar 2014 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 03/19/2014 10:58:18 PM PDT by Rummyfan

Let me begin by saying that I think the only issue in the 2014 election should be Obamacare. In fact, that should be the only issue in every election until it's repealed.

I also think all Republican candidates should be trained with shock collars and cattle prods to automatically respond, upon hearing some combination of the words "abortion," "rape" and "incest": "Yes, of course there should be exceptions in the case of rape or incest, and I also support giving rapists the death penalty, unlike my Democratic opponent, who wants to give rapists the right to vote. Now, back to what I was saying about Obamacare ..."

Yet and still, I'm not sure it's news that The New York Times ran into some kids at CPAC who are "pro-free market on fiscal issues and libertarian on social ones." ("Young Republicans Find Fault With Elders on List of Social Issues," March 10.)

First of all, young people are idiots. I love them, I was one once myself -– but they're idiots. We'll be interested in their opinions on the basic rules of civilization as soon as they have one of three things: a household to run, a mortgage or school-aged children. Being in college is like living in Disneyland.

Second, I've been reading that same column in The New York Times every few months for the last 20 years. Whether it's abortion, gays, God or drugs, Times reporters are like bloodhounds in sniffing out Republicans -- often kids -- who are "pro-free market on fiscal issues and libertarian on social ones." If something has been trending for decades without ever really catching on, it's probably not about to sweep the nation.

People who don't understand the difference between political factions usually remain silent.

You brag about it.

I know that libertarians and rinos reject much of the same elements of conservatism, the leg that people call social conservatism, which is what this article calls them on.

The libertarians, the rinos, and the liberal media are always telling us that the young blah blah, we have to move left..... and social issues will kill us blah, blah, we must move left....., well Ann deconstructs that.

Rinos and libertarians won’t like this article, but you should read it anyway.

“Young people don’t change”

But, Ann is a windsock in a “Statist” hurricane.

1. Liberals & Leftists want big government.

2. Libertarians want small government.

3. Buy.A.Clue.

Look at reality, instead of like a college kid telling us how perfect Communism is.

Social liberalism destroys conservatism, and leads to what it has led to over the last 50 years, more liberal voters.

Destroying American culture and social conservatism doesn’t create people voting for small government and low taxes, that was and is the Christians, social conservative America, and it still is, social liberals vote for more government and welfare and redistribution of other people’s assets.

Get a clue.

Reality is the Tea Party conservatives and libertarians in agreement. Your fantasies are college liberals somehow representing libertarians.

Small government IS small government, under any guise.

Communism and collectivism ARE big government - under any guise.

That’s the real world.

How about not letting them vote until they're at least old enough not to be on their parents' health insurance?

Excellent idea and it would give liberals like the one's at the NYTs conniption fits.

Did anyone come up with a good explanation for her McConnell article other than a big sack of money

Exactly. And the other argument the left is going to try and force down our throats this election cycle is sodomy.

The left doesn't want to talk about jobs, obamacare, cost of gas, cost of food, weak foreign policy, the stupidity of spending...it'll all be about homosexuals.

We do not need to get drawn in....we can merely say "Homosexuals have to have health care, too, and Obamacare is a disaster for them...."

Last week, for the first time in ten years, I did not read the entire Coulter article. When I realized where she was going I left her page.

“Being in college is like living in Disneyland.”

That is absurd; the state school I attended had mostly working students who were just there to learn. The “Animal House” days are long past us, and the occasional 60s holdover with gray stringy hair who would occasionally show up with a loudspeaker trying to rally support for causes only “Important to Rich White People” was routinely ignored. While some people go to college for four more years of high school, those ranks have thinned considerably; colleges are simply loading up with foreign students because of a lack of American students willing to commit the time & money due to questionable potential returns.

Yeah, that’s why most of us are struggling to even buy Ramen. It’s the dream. Not all of us are like that idiot who sued her parents, and not all of us are Obama zombies. All I know is that I was never taken in by Christie or Romney. But then again, I’m not an idiot.

There's a reason you never hear the expression, "As goes Manhattan's Upper East Side, so goes the nation."

YOUNG PEOPLE DON'T CHANGE -- NEITHER DOES THE N.Y. TIMES

LOL - yes, Ann's right - but at some point any given group of 'young people' grow up. Not so with New York Times journalists.

Liberal elite journalists play eternal teenager - continuing - forever - to rebel against 'daddy' who didn't 'get' their sensitivity.

thx, I remember when Ann had many, many fans here, I in fact was one. Someone would post her articles and there would be hundreds of posts. There was always requests for people to follow the rules, the rules meaning posting pictures of Ann, now she draws less then 20 posts, none call for a picture.
