While we were in China adopting, an older lady told us it was only because we wanted a maid! Of course that was not true.
When my daughter turned 3, she wanted a child size vacuum cleaner, broom and kitchen set (all toys obviously) for Christmas! So we have pictures of her pretend cleaning at 3! We still get a laugh out of that. I can’t even get her to clean her room now!
Still, if of all places Russia brings attention to a country that would actually euthanize children, that’s a good thing.

We were asked by a neighbor, “Do you really need that much help with the laundry?” Yes, jerks exist, MacMattico. A coworker of my husband asked him, “Why did you adopt a ten month old CHINESE baby?” My husband flippant reply? ... “because they wouldn’t let me adopt a twenty year old CHINESE woman”. :)
