Sen. Ted Cruzs request for the Justice Department to appoint an independent prosecutor to determine the extent of the IRS targeting of conservative groups has been turned down, Politico reported.
Mr. Cruz, Texas Republican, called the rejection the height of hypocrisy, saying that the current lead investigator who has a record of campaign and political contributions to the Democratic Party is partisan, loyal to his liberal-leaning causes.
Both Nixon administration Attorney General Elliot Richardson and Clinton administration Attorney General Janet Reno appointed special prosecutors whose integrity was beyond reproach, Mr. Cruz told Politico. Eric Holder should do likewise.

Probably nothing.

Nothings going to change until the next election and even then it will be a matter of appointing people who want this country back as much as we do. Not so sure that would be the case as the corruption in Washington is so great...you pay to play or you’re isolated.

Good for Cruz. I'm tired of the GOP rolling into the fetal position whenever this administration looks their way.
Its way past time to start calling them what they are.

In a tyranny, everyone is a criminal, except the government or anyone who works for the government or is part of the government.
I think we're there.
BTW - anyone who is prosecuted for a violation of federal law should just consider it an attack by "official" badged thugs.

The communists party has effectively built a cocoon around themselves and typical of any criminal gang. King Obama is a communists black Muslim and his appointments are communists Democrats. Nothing the House can do but if we get the Senate we can start cleaning the communists out and impeach the President. Biden is a stone fool and can be crushed.

Each successive Democrat administration builds upon the level of corruption, dishonesty, and criminality achieved by the previous Democrat administration.

Congressman Jim Jordan, Republican and on the Oversight Committee, had an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal today in which he lays out the case against Lerner and asks for Democrat support on the committee. Could be leading up to something.
Issa and his group are big on getting the public ready for things before they do them. With so much negative sentiment about Congress, and with so much demonizing of Republicans, they are smart to do this.

Well, I hope they do something, but this corruption is so disgusting and the Pubbies never cease to disappoint us. It is hard sometimes to stay positive, but we never give up.

I think they will. Timing is important. Dems should be on our side in this. It is shocking misuse of government power.
To: firebrand
Anytime the Democrats are on our side, we are on the wrong side.

The hyperpartisan ones, yes. But there are actually patriots out there among the Dems. Don’t forget it was leftists who brought suit against the unlimited detention without trial. As Obama becomes more of an albatross than a god, we may see more of it.
