(CNN) - China has new satellite images showing a large object floating in the southern search area, the Malaysian transport minister said Saturday.
The object is 22 meters long and 30 meters wide, (72 feet by 98 feet) , Hishammuddin Hussein announced. He told reporters he's just gotten the information, and China will release more details in "coming hours."
The search for the missing Malaysian jetliner expanded Saturday as various countries dispatched additional aircraft and ships to scan the choppy waters of the southern Indian Ocean.
Whatever happened to the narrative that "they" can read a license plate from space?

Looks like a whale breaching to me. One of the earlier images looked like a whale too.
That’s my first thought at looking at the newest images. The object looks wider than previous images.
Some expert said today that the Chinese won’t show the world their most highest resolution images. Don’t want to show all your cards.
Ok, that settles it then. Did you ever consider all the other resources that have been thrown at this that they could not find it after three days of concentrated resources of P3’s and P8? I’m sure our enemies are just giddy with joy knowing that we can give them a sat image with chords and they still can’t find them.
With the range and loiter capabilities of Predators and Global Hawks with the real time abilities to zoom in and out in addition to a certain degree of spectrum analysis that they were not called into action?
It’s too big. To get an object that large it would have to include a large part of one of the wings and then it would have had to remain floating in choppy seas for over a week. I’d be willing to bet it’s an old boat section or broken up barge.
Good point. None of the talking heads or “experts” have mentioned these resources. Seems like they would be perfect for this job.
Only if the dimensions given out by the Chinese are correct. The relative (L/W) dimension looks to be the same as an evacuation slide per the above slide photo.
They have 2 satellite images now. I hope it won’t be long before we get a visual.
It’s probably just debris from the Japanese tsunami. I believe that obama is conspiring with his Iranian masters to use flight 370 to deliver a nuclear attack against Israel. I doubt that it was just coincidental that 20 people just happened to be on board who could make the jet invisible. Obama is trying to throw China off this track so they don’t nuke Iran for kidnapping their people. He doesn’t want the Chinese to destroy his surprise for Israel.

The “length divided width” relative dimension is about the same. The appendage is at the same location in both images.
To me, that floating device looks like Barry Gibb’s face....

day 4 of looking off Australia and still not a peep even with two different images with good coordinates of apparently the same thing. I considered weather, but from this link, that is not an issue either.

Ironic thing is I was watching the Science Channel yesterday and one of their “How It Works” shows did a story of how the slides are built and tested. It is just one company in Phoenix. This is the company that makes them for the 777.
