Except for the fact the Homeowners Associations are absolutely unconstitutional in every way shape or form. Under no constitutional circumstances can you be forced to enter into a private contract to own property in the united states.

How the HOA travisty still exists in our republic is beyond me.

Anyone with even a rudimentary knowledge of the constitution knows Obamacare is also unconstitutional for the same reason. You can't be forced into a private contract. HOAs are the EXACT same thing.

And beyond the unconstitutional status of HOAs is the fact that most claim contractually that they CAN add rules that weren't in there when you bought the property. So yes I've been predicting HOAs would try this for some time and in reality I'm glad they did so maybe we can finally put HOAs out to pasture like we should have many years ago.

You don’t believe in private property rights, and the right of an owner to put restrictions on his OWN property in order to make it attractive to (some) buyers?

Obamacare will fine you if you don’t buy it’s product,or one like it.

No one is fined for not buying a condo. It’s all about choice. I live in a condo and am okay with the rules because of the freedom I now have after almost 50 years of home ownership.
