I don’t know anything about Harry Dent. What sort of reputation does he have? What do INFORMED FReepers think of him?
I was in junior high with his sister. His dad and mine were acquainted years ago. But other than that, he has predicted Dow 40,000 , Dow 20,000 and Dow 6,000 in the last few years. He sells books, but I don’t think he called the 2007-2008 bubble.
He predicts massive private-sector deleveraging.
I predict massive public- and private-sector repudiation.
I still expect hyperinflation.
I concur.
At our current level of debt repayment is out of the question. Furthermore,at anything like a market-driven interest rate, the debt becomes unserviceable so we must continue to print money at about $1 trillion per annum until the system collapses.
Anyone see a way out of this predicament?

If history is any guide, war is a way out. Unfortunately, our nation doesn't reap riches from the spoils after winning wars. We give to our defeated enemies. Additionally, this current government is debasing our military and strengthening our enemies. So if war comes, our money problem is over because we're vanquished and/or dead, and the enemy will reap riches from us. So short of a miracle, the future looks bleak!
