Shaping a response to Russia will be a high-stakes test for Obama
Los Angeles Times ^ | March 23, 2014 | By Kathleen Hennessey

President Obama's trip will be a plunge into American leadership in Europe after years of shifting U.S. policy away from the Old World.

... Some say he has not prepared for this challenge. "It's going to require an enormous amount of American leadership in Europe, which we have not seen for the last five years," said Heather Conley, director of the Europe program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank. "We've got a lot of making up to do."

Much of Europe welcomed the election of Obama after the go-it-alone style of President George W. Bush. But many diplomats since have come to view the U.S. administration as dismissive and disengaged.

Hmmmpf! The picture shows Obama alone in a golf cart. He has no friends. He is isolated and in over his head. Bush had his faults, but he built a coalition and he took decisive action. The journalists, as usual, have their heads up a dark place.

Failure.
No one in Europe, let alone Eastern Europe, trusts him.

When Obama lied to Putin face over Libya that was the red line for Putin.

Putin asked Obama that he was only going to protect the people of Libya with a no Fly zone but WOULD NOT BOMB LIBYA Obama lied and lost all credulity he had left with Putin.

Maybe Barry oughta point his putter at the camera while he’s talking to demonstrate how outrage he is.

Europe celebrated the election of Obama because they knew that he was worthless. Europe has always been jealous of America, and was giddy over the fact that America would purposely self destruct. It’s like teenagers alone when their parents go away on vacation.

Yet now Europe is scared Shiite-less of Russia, and turns to the USA to rescue their butts...only to find out that their savior is Obama. I hope Europe will like their Russian masters.

Good catch. The one thing the Mahdi will not do is emulate what President Reagan did when a Syrian stooge group bombed the Marin barracks in Beirut, Lebanon in 1981. President Reagan realized there was no practical way directly to retaliate. Instead he got the Marines out, sent in a battleship, bombarded terrorist positions with a few 16” shells, and initiated a massive defense buildup that eventually destroyed the Soviet Union.

The key here is the same: a massive, effective indirect response that does not involve direct military action, but that will profoundly damage Russia's world position and strengthen ours. Right now that means a massive unshackling of our energy industry to include natural gas development and export, massive petroleum development, ending the war on coal, and encouraging the nuclear industry. That being done, Russia, and Islamic powers that are equally hostile to us, will be greatly weakened by the substantial reduction of their energy revenues.

A serious defense buildup is the net necessity. It should include installing the ABM system the Mahdi scotched in Poland and any other receptive countries and material aid, short of sending troops, to any friendly country that wants to resist Russian aggression. We must also decisively resist Iranian nuclear development, including bombing Iranian nuclear facilities , if that's what's necessary to prevent them fro enveloping nuclear weapons.

Unfortunately, none of this will happen because the Mahdi fundamentally sympathizes with Russia and our Islamic enemies, being the evil traitor that they created and inserted into our country, and it would require him to reverse most of his anti-American domestic and foreign policies..

"...after the go-it-alone style of President George W. Bush"

It's the chronic stupidity and lies of the MSM that is our biggest challenge.

This moronic reporter tosses out the above comment as if it were fact when its completely opposite of the truth.

We'll never regain control of this country until we root out all of the media whores that daily spew lies and disinformation.

Boy, that photo says it all. One loser driving around a golf course all by himself.

It is significant the LA Times printed this article. It states the truth that Obama is not up to the task. Obama has been dismissive and disengaged.

Maybe now the LA Times will release the dirt on Obama they have been hiding.

Will be? It already has been. He took the test, and the results are in. He is a joke and the world is watching.

(...and they don't give a damn that he is half black.)

We’ll know Obama is really serious when he threatens to sign Putin up for ObamaCare.
