Tony Blair is celebrating another multi-million pound contract after his charity secured a key deal with the US government.
This time, the former prime minister’s Africa Governance Initiative (AGI) has won a £3.3 million contract to play a key role in Barack Obama’s flagship African aid programme.
… It is thought to be the third grant obtained by Mr Blair’s charity from USAID. The body was, until last February, overseen by Hillary Clinton, who, along with her husband Bill, the former US president, is a close friend of Mr Blair and his wife, Cherie.

I read Hillary Clinton lobbied and got the UN to pass millions of Haitian earthquake US Aide dollars through the “non-profit” Clinton corporation. I’m sure they took the standard rake plus expenses off the top. That was the moment when I realized we’d become a banana republic.
I wish I knew how, however, to avoid taxes....seems it takes a lot of money to avoid taxes..
Think of it as an honorarium. Blair doesn’t get anything from it. Don’t know if the charity blows it all on advertising and society balls, or does something useful, but the money was given probably more as a favor than a bribe.
Still sorta sucks, and is symbolic of how bigger amounts are doled on based on crony connections.
Chalk it up to charity and declare it in your 2013 taxes.
