I guess like many others, they are realizing this isn’t a “freebie” after all.

An objective look at the provisions written into “Obamacare” would indicate its costs as being approximately equal to the purchase of a major medical plan, in which the benefits kick in after a rather large deductible has been spent down. But there is no allowance made for the establishment of a Medical Savings Plan, to cover the $12,000 in “deductibles”, and no incentive to establish one on the individual’s own initiative.

On a comparative basis, the so-called “plans” provided under this atrocity known as the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010” in no known way measure up to the major medical expenses plans with the large deductibles. With mandated services, but no provisions for catastrophic costs should the care provided not meet with the Independent Payment Advisory Board’s prior approval, the only result is denial of that technique.

Wasn’t that the objection raised to commercially purchased insurance, that some faceless “death panel” would rule on the economic feasibility of allowing some procedure, and turn it down if certain criteria were not met? How is the IPAB any different, except the criteria would be set much, much higher? And not necessarily related to any economic feasibility determination?

After all, the IPAB would have no contractual obligation to provide any kind of alternative, and not even a legal requirement that their findings could be challenged in a timely manner, whereas the commercial insurance entity would have a strong incentive to avoid such legal entanglements.
