Oberweis shunned by fellow Republicans
WLS-AM ^ | 3-24-14 | Bill Cameron

In the race for U.S. Senate, Republican challenger Jim Oberweis is getting shunned by two top Republicans - one local, one national.

Dick Durbin is such a favorite for reelection that Republican Senator Mark Kirk says he’s not even planning to campaign with fellow Republican Oberweis.

“I’m going to be protecting my relationship with Dick and not launching into a partisan jihad that hurts our partnership [in which we] both pull together for Illinois.”

And at his side at an unrelated news conference was Republican Senate Minority Whip John Cornyn of Texas, in town for a fundraiser, who took a pass on supporting Oberweis.

“The reason I’m here is for my own reelection, and so I’m not getting involved in the Illinois Senate race at this time.”

And so what you have there are two top senators throwing Oberweis under the bus.

Can you just imagine a Democrat doing this to a fellow Democrat?

Never.

This demonstrates clearly to me that Cornyn and Kirk are Democrat infiltrators.

“I’m going to be protecting my relationship with Dick...."

I hope you Illinois Freepers let this jack-ass know how despicable that statement is.

The junior member of the Uniparty, the GOP, is doing its part to protect the personal interests of a few hundred lords and aristocrats on capitol hill.

Of course, we need to keep voting every two years, just as our oppressors direct.

Since there is no real distinction between the Dems and the GOPe, Rush had it spot on a long time ago by calling all of them “The Ruling Class”. It fits even more today than it did a few years ago.

"...a partisan jihad that hurts our partnership…"

Mark Kirk is usually only annoying to watch from over the river, but that is bad.

"Jihad?" That's the word that came - or was supplied - to you, Kirk? Well, congratulations, senator- you have hit a new low, which in your case means starting to dig after you hit bottom.

This flaccid RINO hasn't fought for anything except his precious career, which obviously exists at the pleasure of the Democrat party.

YOu think Durbin or any other dem would stump for you?

This is the problem with our party. Absolutely insane.

Hey, Kirk...I suppose while you’re at it, don’t bother to support the “Smuck” republican who is running for governor.

I’ve had it....

Exactly how demented does one have to be to pull the lever for a lowlife POS like Durbin. Areas of this country are just too stupid to overcome...

The purpose of the GOPe is to maintain the PRETENSE that there is any opposition to Socialism in DC.

Meanwhile, they fight hard against there being any real conservatives in DC, because if that happens and the Dems get actual opposition, then the geniality and invitations to the good parties go away and things get ugly. The GOPe does NOT want to get into fights with the Dems, only conservatives.

This is exactly why having the Republicans in control of the Senate won’t mean diddly squat. I’m sure they’ll be happy to join their Democratic “fiends” every chance they get.

This precisely why the GOPe will be the death of the party.

Utterly useless “moderates”.
