Last June, World Vision U.S president Richard Stearns stated that, No one ever died of gay marriage, thereby trivializing the importance of the issue, as if it contrasted with the organizations mission of providing tangible relief to suffering humanity.
Today, he went much further, claiming that this radical, unbiblical move is actually a very narrow policy change that should be viewed as symbolic not of compromise but of [Christian] unity.
What? World Vision redefines the nature of marriage the most fundamental institution of society, ordained by God in Genesis 2 as the lifelong union of a man and a woman and reaffirmed by Jesus as such in Matthew 19 and ignores the explicit and repeated condemnation of homosexual practice throughout the Scriptures and then claims it is a very narrow policy change?
What? World Vision mocks the sentiments, convictions, and sensibilities of countless thousands of its Christian constituents, rejects the historic testimony of virtually all branches of Christianity, decides to take a terribly controversial stand on the most socially divisive issue of the day, and then claims that this is symbolic not of compromise but of [Christian] unity?
With all respect to the massive amount of good that Richard Stearns and World Vision have done in helping the poor and needy for many years now, his words strain Christian credulity.

In the interests of “Christian Unity” they say.
Yes, let’s unite Christ with Sodom.
Now, let’s see what the Bible has to say about that ...
1 Corinthians 6:15
Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
Imagine that. Who woulda thunk that God could be so narrow-minded.
What was that Jesus said about the straight gate and the narrow path?
But many have died due to homosexual 'acts' which spread noxious diseases throughout society - sometimes even killing innocents (through tainted blood transfusions, or even through deliberate acts of contamination).
And that is just the physical death. Eternal death and damnation comes to those that don't repent and stay in their sin.
And a ton of their work is in African Nations, those countries don’t share this value World Vision is putting forth. Really makes you wonder. sad ping
I see World Vision, just like the Boy Scouts, succumbing to the pressures of maintaining donors, facilities, programs and the other trappings of the world. These groups have grown so comfortable and expectant of these things that they forego the very beliefs that they were founded upon in order to maintain status quo.
The homosexual mafia strikes again.
World Vision was founded in 1950 by Bob Pierce; good chance they are totally separating themselves from their history.

My child was going to do a fund raising effort for World Vision but now I’m going to pull her from that event.
No one ever died because he/she was denied a gay marriage or an opportunity to crossdress.
Two sides can make these arguments.
I don’t know if this is true though it makes sense, maybe they caved in for the same reasons as BSA, money and big money at that.
“Certainly Stearns has witnessed the president openly threatening Uganda with a cut-off in aid for opposing the mainstreaming of homosexuality. It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to figure out that Stearns may be next.
World Vision and its leaders apparently have decided they and their principles can be bought for a price. Their “30 pieces of silver” are worth somewhere between $180 million and $333 million.”

I will respond with a “very narrow policy change” of my own. Previously, World Vision would have been a candidate for my charitable contribution. Now, it is not.
I suspect their donations will go down significantly because of their surrender to worldly values - at least I hope so!!
I guess his statistics were wrong:
Gay man becomes first to be convicted of murdering partner in same-sex marriage (By Daily Mail Reporter UPDATED: 02:53 EST, 6 May 2010)
A gay man who stabbed his 'husband' to death has been convicted of Britain's first ever domestic violence murder within a gay marriage...
Breaks my heart. We’ve had 4 WV sponsored kids over the last 18 years. May have to look at Compassion International now.
Didn’t World Vision used to be Christian?
No one ever died of gay marriage,
Where’s he been?
