There have been some intriguing sightings of debris, gleaned from satellite imagery and aerial observations. Ships and aircraft from six countries — Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and the United States — are combing the area. NASA says it's taking pictures of the southern search zone with its Terra and EO-1 satellites. But so far, Inmarsat's masterful theorem has yet to be proven.
What about the ELT's?
Why don’t we have more than one country producing these images with their satellites? Just sayin’
How did they get all the pieces from the runway in Pakistan or Iran or wherever into the ocean without anyone noticing? (/sarc)
The calculations by Inmarsat and the AAIB (UK Accidents Investigation Board) didn’t make any “calculations” about what happened inside the plane ... :-) ...
What their calculations are about ... very simply ... is where to concentrate the search.
Over two and a half weeks to fabricate a ‘crash remains’ site. Hmm.
The Malaysian PM would give his right tail wing for any evidence that the plane was in a mullah’s driveway in Pakistan.
It was their “intelligence opinion”. I don’t think you can find a SINGLE REPORT that is written from the “first person” - which says, “I saw it there.”
They were all relying on, “My contact at the CIA, says that one of their contacts in the Middle East, talked to a guy over in India, who has a brother-in-law in Afhanistan, whose sister in Pakistan, has a child who was going to the market, and his friend at the market told him that his father SAW THE PLANE!” ... LOL ...
Sometimes, that’s how “intelligence” works. SOMEONE actually did see it! ... :-) ...
Would you believe anything that came out of Inmarsat? Or, do you only rely on neighbors “talking across the fence” and the electronic equivalent of “talking at the water cooler”? ... :-) ...
Unless I’m mistaken, not a single piece of this debris has been picked up or spotted visually.

I agree w/ your assessment of this tragic situation. We may never know the what or why of what happened.
I’m not a CNN watcher, but my spouse has watched countless hours of their insipid coverage. I think it’s shameful for all these so called experts to tout their theory of the hour w/o any regard to facts or the lack of facts. The hubby has finally turned off CNN and will come ask me to check online for new information.
As for the Malayasian government, they have been an example of how NOT to handle a missing airplane story. Yes, people want to know what’s going on...but it helps no one when the information handed out is wrong and keeps changing daily/hourly.
I’m still thinking it landed and once the sensitive and desirable cargo removed it was remotely flown to nowhere and ditched. I have nothing to support that and only hope the souls on board have a new life.
I believe the good General was also of the opinion that the contrailing airliner that passed over SoCal a few years ago was a Chinese ICBM launched from a submarine right off the coast.
No evidence, no indication of a Chinese sub there, no ICBM ever found and no warhead impacts anywhere known but he ran with it. I’m afraid the General is easily swayed, gullible, and/or, conditioned to go with the most sensational thing he say to keep that face time going on the networks.
I forgot about the good general and his opinion on the airline contrail...things are beginning to add up. Take the good general’s word/opinion/sources with a grain of salt.

I listened to the General. Over time, it seemed he shifted what he was saying, to an implication it was just his guess.
If it blew up or crashed, there would be thousands of pieces, so is it so surprising that 122 pieces were near each other?

Nearly 3 weeks after crashing? In open seas, gale force storms, currents...Yea, I find that pretty surprising.
