Dan Lieberman, Yee’s press secretary, told The Times his office would not comment on the FBI raids, which were reportedly linked to the arrest Wednesday morning of Raymond “Shrimp Boy” Chow.

Representatives for the U.S. attorney’s office could not immediately be reached.

San Francisco Police Chief Greg Suhr described the raids to KCBS as “massive.”

“Hundreds of officers are involved in this,” he said.

KGO-TV in San Francisco reported Yee was arrested.

Among the locations being searched by authorities Wednesday was the Ghee Kung Tong Supreme Lodge belonging to the Chinese Freemasons on Spofford Street in San Francisco’s Chinatown, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. An FBI evidence response team also searched a building in the 1700 block of Hyde Street.

Raymond ”Shrimp Boy” Chow, birth name is Kwok Cheung

Raymond Chow grandmother gave him the nickname Shrimp Boy due to his small size.

Peter Chong was sent from Hong Kong to the United States by the Wo Hop To Triad to dominate all the underworld Asian Chinatown gangs, starting with San Francisco, Ca. Peter Chong needed muscle so he recruited Raymond Chow making him the 2nd highest ranking in the USA Wo Hop Toe division. After the murder of Danny Wong in 1991, the remaining members of the Wah Ching was forced out the Bay Area and fled to Los Angeles, CA. The Wo Hop To took control over all criminal activity in SF Chinatown. Peter Chong and Raymond Chow had plans to form an umbrella organization called Tien HaWui (“Whole Earth Association”).

Raymond Chow, who acquaintances call Shrimp Boy, says he confronted Mr. Hsu in 1990 on behalf of friends who had invested in the glove business. Mr. Chow -- who stands 5-foot-4, is heavily muscled, and has a dragon tattoo on his torso -- says that at that time he was an enforcer for the Hop Sing Tong, an association that prosecutors have said was involved in crimes ranging from prostitution to heroin trafficking.
