College Students Fail to Name a Single U.S. Senator
CNS News ^ | March 25, 2014 | Matt Vespa

Last week, MRCTV's Dan Joseph went to American University to give the student body a little general knowledge quiz.

When asked if they could name a SINGLE U.S. senator, the students blanked. Also, very few knew that each state has two senators. The guesses were all over the map, with some crediting each state with twelve, thirteen, and five senators.

So, when it comes to politics, the students at American University are a little rusty - but, they passed with flying colors when it comes to pop culture.

Nothing is better than a good command of the English language.
A college degree is better than nothing.

Therefore, a college degee is better than a good command of the English language.

Not this college student. I went to MSU and we did not support those losers in any way. We thought they were nuts. The closest we ever came was having Peter, Paul and Mary in concert. This was before they became so political. Some of us got to meet them afterwards. I really, really think they were starving from the way they ate. I kind of felt sorry for them.

My God, I went to AU in the late 60’s majoring in Pol Sci and serving as a Senate intern. It’s not conceivable that this would happen there then.

Our public schools are doing a fine job of creating graduates that are ignorant of the basic knowledge of our nation. This makes it much easier to convince them that the 2nd amendment specifically requires gun registrations and other left wing lies.

If there were aptitude tests for voting, Democrats would never win anything.

The college students of 1968 ru(i)n Amerika today.

I graduated from college in 1969 and joined the Marine Corps. There are many of my brother Marines' names on the Wall and we did not "ruin" America.

I didn’t mean to cast all students into the same boat.

But academia, the news establishment, and many unelected offices of government today are infested with the 68 Revolution red diaper doper babies.

They knew the agenda they were seeking and they’ve gotten much of it and through the media and educational indoctrination are planting the seeds for the future.

The red diaper doper babies could name names in elected office. Today’s uninformed voting base (while college educated), not so much.

A university FIVE MILES FROM THE CAPITOL and they can’t name a single Senator?

Looking on the bright side, at leat they won’t be disappointed in someone (senator) they can’t name. Not many on this site can say they haven’t been disappointed in their senators (many times for me but then I’m from PA).

I’m thinking if someone asked me to name my state’s senators tomorrow I’d just say I have no clue, but I’m pretty sure one or both are liars.

I heard some of his questioning —

Can you name any serving US senators?

I would argue that most are not SERVING.

I doubt they would have been able to locate it on their own or even know what a voting booth is.

Why do you suppose the Dems are going to push for Voting By Twitter?

That's an easy one.

Lindsey Graham is a single U.S. Senator.

Young naive clueless fools getting ripped off. Probably working towards a useless arts or communications degree, fifty thousand in student load debt and mounting, and upon graduation the only job offer will be a minimum wage part-time gig at Mickey D’s. and only if there aren’t any illegals applying for the job.

And they can’t name a senator? They would if they knew what a senator was. But don’t worry they’ll learn all about that stuff when they attend law school.

Oh well, who knows they might be president some day :)

Makes you proud to be an American...
