Obama says Russia's energy sector could be target of new sanctions
FOX News ^ | March 26, 2014

President Obama threatened a new round of sanctions against Russia on Wednesday, this time aimed at the country’s energy sector.

Obama, speaking at a news conference at the Council of the European Union, said the crisis in Ukraine underscored Europe’s need to become less dependent on Russia’s rich energy sources.

He also acknowledged that additional sanctions could affect Russia’s neighboring countries but said the United States was committed to helping those nations find energy alternatives. Obama said coordination between the U.S. and Europe on economic sanctions against Russia has been excellent and warned that if Russia continues on its current course, "the isolation will deepen."

“Russia stands alone,” he said. “Russia stood alone when trying to defend its actions at the U.N. Security Council, the 28 members of the European Union are united, the 28 members of NATO are united, every member of the G7 has imposed sanctions on Russia as we announced on Monday, and the G7 will meet here in Brussels in June – without Russia.”

The president went on to say if “Russian leadership thought the world wouldn’t care about their actions in Ukraine, or that they could drive a wedge between the European Union and the United States, they clearly miscalculated.”

Yeah, Europe's gonna cut its own throat to please Obama. Like he's so successful in converting the USA to "alternative" energy. Talk about miscalculating.

Europe doesn't needs obamaramadingdongs help in cutting their throats energy wise, they have their Green Party, especially in Germany! Like their huge wind farm project they built with no usable infrastructure in place to transmit the electricity from it. My Aunt and cousins live there so I get to hear the non propaganda truth about their healthcare and such.

Sometimes I wonder why the RINO/globalist elite would rather lose to Obama than support a constitutional conservative who could win.

Does Obama think everyone else is a gullible as the people that fell for his candidacy and his solar & wind power "solutions" which actually don't exist as solutions at all?

I think he's being fairly laughed at by most of the rest of the world. It would be funny except Russia is putting his fantasy outlook to the test and the likes of China, North Korea, Iran, and Syria are watching closely.

I actually suffered through the majority of his self-serving, highminded, speech that was written by someone else, who must have thought they were writing an epic novel, and the Marxist read it like a B-actor, complete with animations.

He really didn’t say anything of substance, primarily because he’s an empty suit. He has no actual understanding of world affairs and he’s still at the train station holding baggage, while Putin is the engineer, roaring down the tracks.

Of course the solution is that our country which has been screaming energy independence for 20 years is going to ship refined oil to Europe and solve the problem.

Europe and the other countries get a bazillion barrels from Russia.

Let's just send Europe the EPA.

Putin has to be wondering the same thing. A pro playing against a child. Obama has no business even being on the same playing field with Putin.

What a joke. This will not stop Russia from building their empire to be more powerful then any nation on the earth. America has slipped badly and may never rebuild as long as we have communists running things.

If he’d just quiet down for a little while? Can someone find him another ultra- ritzy ( capitalist pig) golf course, maybe?

It was all a bunch of meaningless words. Obama only wants to give the impression that he’s doing something. Its really a pathetic display of monumental incompetence and weakness. And the whole world see’s him for what he is.

One way to hurt Russia is to open up America’s energy power and might, open up all America for drilling.
