Senator Yee had made repeated attempts to outlaw popular semi-automatic rifles, and his most recent effort, SB 374, was vetoed by Governor Jerry Brown last year. Yee had vowed to reintroduce the legislation again in 2014, but will likely be more concerned about finding a good defense lawyer instead.
The LA Times reported:
Federal prosecutors unsealed an indictment against state Sen. Leland Yee in court Wednesday, accusing him of conspiring to commit wire fraud and traffic firearms.
In all, 26 people, including former school board president Keith Jackson, were indicted on charges related to an extensive crime ring headed by well-known Chinatown figure Raymond Chow, who was also arrested and charged Wednesday.
The indictment alleges Yee and Jackson defrauded “citizens of honest services” and were involved in a scheme to traffic firearms in exchange for thousands in campaign donations to the senator.
Federal prosecutors also allege Yee agreed to perform official acts in exchange for the money, including one instance in which he introduced a businessman to state legislators who had significant influence over pending medical marijuana legislation. In exchange, the businessman — who was actually an undercover FBI agent — agreed to donate thousands to Yee’s campaign fund, according to the indictment.
The indictment also describes an August 2013 exchange in which Jackson told an undercover officer that Yee had an arms trafficking contact. Jackson allegedly said Yee could facilitate a meeting for a donation.

Too funny. You just can’t write this stuff. Almost every American with a working brain knows why they are coming for our guns. Take the guns and all the other constitutional protections will be removed as there’s nothing to stop them from using deadly force against a disarmed populace. Yee acted to assist Islamic radicals transfer of shoulder fired missiles to domestic criminal groups (who knows exactly where they would end up?) Shoulder fired missiles. Do gangs use those? Or do terror groups? What do they use them on? Planes most likely.
So we have Yee acting to assist in weapons being transferred to groups here in the USA that could be used in a terrorist attack on the homeland.
Can you say Treason? Yes I think so.
He hates guns so much that he’s an illegal gun-dealer for criminals.
What a PERFECT example of why law-abiding Californians BADLY NEED guns —the strongest ones the cops (his servants) carry, preferably.
these guns likely would have been used to kill Californians, most likely young Californians. They should charge him with conspiracy to commit murder.

next I hope it will Diane Frankenstein. She is so very gun control yet she never said a darn word about a shipment arriving at the Oakland Port which contains, I believe 10,000 AK49s. This happened some years ago and not a peep from her. Now I wonder since she and hubby are involved with China. Perhaps there is a connection with Yee.

Just got in and saw this... amazing. This guy isn’t just some anti-gun pol. Yee is a menace to every gun owner in California and the country. A Chinese born sworn enemy of the US constitution.

This is why Liberals are such huge supporters of “Gun Control” what they mean is they want criminals they associate with to continue to have firearms, its the rest of us they want disarmed

Originally Operation Dragon Fire involved a small number of AK-47's, but that number later expanded. The suppliers also promised grenades, Man Portable Anti-Aircraft Missiles (the PRC Parakeet model, I believe) and even light mortars.
Feinstein's husband was (and I believe is still) a legal rep of COSCO, the Chinese Oversease Shipping COrporation, which held a lease on a former US military base and port in Long Beach. It later turned out that a large number of the arms in question were stored there.
More and more important Chinese officials became ensnared, and US LEO's anticipated the arrival in the US of a Chinese General and perhaps even more important personnel.
The US Department of State became utterly panicked, and almost certainly tipped off the principals, the better to avoid a major US/China diplomatic imbrolgio.
This guy needs to be made the poster boy for Gun Control 24X7X365.
The hypocrisy is staggering.
