Union wages are tied to the minimum wage and that is who this bill is meant to “help.” The poor and young people who will lose jobs and see hours cut are simply collateral damage in the statists’ war for power.
Good point. A large union employer, Shaw’s Supermarkets, closed all there stores in the state a while back. Many were bought by non-union chains and reopened.
I would imagine most other unionized workers make over $10.10/hr anyway (i.e. Electric Boat, BDL airport workers, etc.) so they will see little to no benefit from this.
This was partially done to help unions, maybe not in CT, but around the country, and to please Dear Leader so he can considered Malloy a candidate for some DC post.
