“The troublesome fish currently known as Asian carp may get a new name in Minnesota over concern that the current one casts people from Asian cultures in a negative light. “
There really is no hope for us.

I can see renaming it if it had an offensive name like Chink Fish but it’s a name describing where it’s from. Cmon.

What about white perch? black drum? What does Shad think of shad? Are cats offended by catfish? Are carpenters offended by hammerhead sharks?

I favor “invasive PC crap.”

Let’s call it the “Oriental Carp” and be thoroughly politically incorrect.

In nod to cultural sensitivity, Minnesota considers renaming Asian carp to 'invasive carp', Someone please, make it stop. I can't take it any more.

While they are at it they should reconsider their state Motto. (Ten thousand lakes)
They need to be more considerate:
“Ten Thousand Lakes; But not as many as Wisconsin.”

Rename it the “Leland Yee carp.” He was trying to foment an invasion, so it fits.

Is it okay if we just call them “undocumented carp”?

This is ignorant. While blacks tend to be hypersensitive about such things, other minorities tend to not give two hoots, excepting a very small, radical minority within the minority.
This includes American Indians, several varieties of Asian, an almost meaningless term, as well as several varieties of “Hispanic”, which is almost as meaningless.
To: NormsRevenge
It's a bend over, not a nod.
Who would even give a rip? If the fish is originally from Asia, it's an Asian carp.
I'm surprised the Asians are getting into the "sensitivity" racket. Sad.

I doubt that my suggested name, Yellow Peril Carp, will be rejected.
By the way, there's a man from the Netherlands here to complain about Dutch Elm Disease.

Democrat Carp sounds appropriate too. Or DemoCarp.
Or Progressive Carp.
