The Environmentalists Are Not Giving Up
Canada free press ^ | 3/28/2014 | Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

The small farmers in Virginia rejoiced when Senate Bill 51 and House Bill 268, dubbed the “Boneta Bill,” passed both houses and the Democrat Governor Terry McAuliffe signed it. The bill gave farmers legal protection from overreaching and overzealous county bureaucrats who impose unreasonable requirements and unnecessary fees on small farmers.

The bills, sponsored by state Senator Richard Stuart (R-Montross) and state Delegate Bobby Orrock (R-Thornburg), protect “agricultural operations from local regulation” and limit the government’s ability to require “special-use permits” for farm activities. Among many things, “Martha’s bill prevents counties from imposing a $100 fee to grow tomatoes.”

Martha Boneta, the farmer at the center of this protracted battle in Virginia said, “No Virginian should be forced to lose everything when they fight city hall.” Her farm is embroiled in a costly legal battle with Fauquier County supervisors over the use of her own farmland.

Boneta explained, “Corn mazes and pumpkin carvings were considered ‘events’ that required site plans and a mile-long list of red tape that can be suffocating.”

The only reason I can see for this massive arbitrary over regulation is that the government plans total food control next.
There will be starvation in America. On Purpose.
Step one is to drive small farms out of business.

Faced with fines of $5,000 per violation under charges that she held a birthday party for eight 10-year-old girls without a permit and a “site plan...

What the...?

IDK, the article kinda' reads like Martha did something to piss off the County Board and they are retaliating. You need a permit and a site plan to have a birthday party?

After ObamaCare: ObamaFood, where you will have to buy your food from a government approved store, which will tell you what you can and cannot buy and limit even that, or pay a penalty/tax.

Did you ever see the pictures of the soviet grocery outlets? We’ll probably see those first hand if we keep going the way we are.

Last couple of paragraphs - she has a conservation easement with the local environmental council in exchange for tax breaks. She needs to give up the tax breaks, till then they basically they got her by the nipples.

I’d still go after them under RICO however.

Holy Krap! Thanks rktman
County bureaucrats demanding a $100 permit if you want to grow tomatoes, filling pages of regulations and (paying special fees?)if you want to hold a pumpkin carving event.
CFP and Dr Paugh deserve credit for bringing this scary over reach of EP regulations by local bureaucrats to public attention. The shame is the only place where discussion of this that I’ve seen has come up is here in FR.

Don’t know if this was an issue during the VA governors race but it should have been. If Cuccinelli did bring it up McAlliffe shouldn’t get all the credit.

Pretty sad that we FReepers peruse and post the underbelly of news that SHOULD be front and center but is of no concern to the lsm since it won’t fit their abject sucking up to commie socialist plans. Thank God for FR and those that contribute. Even some lurkers weigh in once in a while. Haven’t noticed too much infiltration by lefty scumbags so that’s a good thing. Maybe they just ignore as a bunch of gun totin’, bible thumpin’, dumbass rednecks. Works for me. :>} Pass me a couple of tomatoes will ya. I try to get folks to participate.

It is important to recognize that evil is advancing on _every_ front and is not subsiding. It is a tsunami. It is the beginning of the final battles, birth pangs leading to the conclusion of the 6,000 years man shall work the earth.

“It gives Fauquier zoning administrator Kimberley Johnson discretion to create penalties and to prohibit private personal gatherings.”

Good grief - echoes of why my ancestors crossed the ocean on the Mayflower. The crown prohibited ‘private personal gatherings” Problem today is that there are no more ‘wilderness new lands’ to escape too!

excerpt: ““Ultimately, these easements reduce farm viability and gradually turn Virginia’s pastoral landscape into a wilderness area.”

And it you think this isn't going on in YOUR state/town - you are naive. Start researching the names these commies operate under - search on YouTube for “Agenda 21 map” - got “Sustainable Development” - LISTEN to these - don't have time? Then you deserve what's coming, YOU are part of the problem, YOU are 'aiding and abetting' by default.

The map - short video with their map - and other names they use - like I.C.L.E.I - in YOUR town

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3qW2XJZdSA

At the Rio De Janeiro meeting - the ‘birth’ of AGENDA 21 - then pres. G. H. W. Bush - told off the world delegates and refused to sign the U.S. into the UN AGENDA 21 - but since then, it's not only got a toe hold here - it's up and running.

Haven’t heard much from these clowns lately but you know they are working insidiously to “protect” gaia from those evil humans. (And the Koch brothers too.:>})

Oh yes - they already have a little ‘eco village’ started here in rural Maine - and I went to a meeting at the library and gathered their materials - including their zoned map of Maine - no more ‘spread’ of man - buying up large tracts of land - got them on the map with proposed ‘corridors... all off limits to man -

All being done under the radar. The leaders are from California.

Insidious sneaky bastards. Most of NV is already owned by the feds so placing vast areas off limits wouldn’t be a problem. And yet in the Black Rock Playa (north of Reno)every year they allow upwards of 60 thousand participants in to “Burning Man” for a week of..........well whatever they do since I’ve never been I can’t give first hand knowledge. LOL! From the pics it looks like MadMax meets an “art festival” kind of thing. Makes money for someone so it gets a pass. Meanwhile some guy is designing “live/work” apartments in town so you never have to go farther than your bicycle will take you. Helps to fight “urban sprawl”. Sadly, too many people will never wake up to this assault.
