Big deal. Obama will probably tour the area and dump billions to rebuild while he did zero for the Washington landslide victims, as many 90 folks still haven’t been recovered. Has anyone noticed that when there is an earthquake overseas the US sends emergency crews to aid in recovering victims? Has any outside assistance been given to the landslide victims?
Bet prisoner’s wished CA would build prisons like AZ Joe did.
I don’t know if anyone caught this, but there was a 3.5 about an hour prior to the 5.1.
Over 80 aftershocks & still happening. Check it out here, live updates of every one recorded. https://mobile.twitter.com/earthquakesLA
felt another strong shaker in Lake Elsinore just now - not on the USGS yet but it rattled the glass lantern lights in the chandalier. another up and down as opposed to rolling
article about yesterday 5.1 and today’s 4.1 up at KTLA:
“Before the Rowland Heights-based 4.1 on Saturday afternoon, the largest aftershock from the earthquake was a magnitude-3.6 that struck around 9:30 p.m., according to USGS. Another larger one with a magnitude of 3.4 hit Saturday morning.
Caltech seismologist Dr. Kate Hutton said the number of incidents was expected for an earthquake of that magnitude.
:snip:
The epicenter was not on an obvious fault, Hutton added.
Seismologists said that there was also a 5 percent chance that it was a precursor to a bigger quake

Is the “Big One” usually preceded by several smaller quakes?
