The Known Unknown is a documentary that premiered this week about two time Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. On his MSNBC show yesterday, Chris Matthews interviewed documentary maker and producer of the film Errol Morris. Matthews described Morris' work as "mystifying" before going on to describe Rumsfeld as looking like a car bomber.
"I found this long documentary mystifying," Matthews said. "Yet it is the Donald Rumsfeld I have always known, that fey, sort of eccentric, sort whimsical face of his, that I swear has the look of a car bomber because he has to smile about the most serious, horrible things."
Based on numerous reports, Rumsfeld went out of his way to help Morris with the film, but that didn't stop the director from slamming him and describing Rumsfeld as "clueless" in front of a live New York audience after the premiere on Tuesday.

Chris Matthews and MSNBC are beyond embarrassment.
Chrissy has tingles running up one leg and tinkle running down the other. He should be doing Depens commercials instead of whatever it is he and his employers think he’s doing.

I don’t know why you put the “BUT” in there, seems to me Rumsfeld served with honor.
Perhaps Sissy can bestir himself to explain to the rest of us great unwashed how one can identify a car bomber. But wouldn’t that be “profiling”? It appears that the great, vast, overwhelming majority of car bombers are young Arab men. What is it about this particular elderly white man that makes Sissy think he might be a car bomber? Other than Sissy’s resentment and desire to spew vitriol and spite?

I apologize to all for seemingly 'downing' Capt Rumsfeld.
He graduated Princeton, became a Naval Aviator and did what was 'required' of him. Not being derogatory but just stating he did his time, joined the Reserve after his Active Duty and remained a Reserve for 25 or so years.
I 'over read' the "Served in Hazardous Duty" statement from 2nd Div Vet and took at as 'they' would describe one of theirs. We both know Bush was 'dumb as a bunch of rocks' despite the fact he had mastered flying Jets../sarc
. Of course, if you are an R, it means virtually nothing, while if you are a "D" and were assigned to Stars and Stripes with your own 'personal 'body guards'' you are heroic. THAT said, at least algore was in country during the appropriate times.
Always remember that Chris Matthews was successfully replaced by an orange traffic cone.
