We're doomed :-)

This is the largest since 1980. In 34 years the headline will be LARGEST EARTHQUAKE SINCE 2044 FELT AT YELLOWSTONE.

I was there in 08 and rangers were worried about Norris basin increase in activity back then.

Hard to tell if this is caused by fracking, global warming, Bush, or racism.

Not to worry. Legislation is in the works to limit the size and damage caused by erfquakes. Be about as effective as all the climate change nazi legislation in the works. Yup, I’m a denier. And proud of it. It may be changing but I’m pretty much thinkin’ we can’t do anything about it.

The activities of man are nothing more than a single mite on a flea in the hair of a bull buffalo when you talk about the geological forces at work in Yellowstone.
I know you were being sarcastic, but I was not! Yellowstone is probably the most fascinating and least understood geological region in the world. The amount of energy found there is a small glimpse of what lies beneath our feet.

Yes, Algore says the temperature in the core of the Earth is several million degrees.
That’s a LOT of energy.

Come on molten lava! I am looking out on six inches of new snow this morning and it is still snowing.
To: SMGFan
One thing seldom mentioned is the general (very) long term trend of a cooling core and diminishing volcanism and tectonic activity.
