Honestly, I was surprised the Russians didn’t seize it when Ukraine went independent. I’ve never expected it to remain Ukrainian.

wow....I had to look and see that this wasn't satire. If Kiev was smart, they would insure the people of Crimea that they will not keep playing with their gas and electricity....lest they get burned by Russia.
I think 80% of the "Ukrainian" soldiers in Crimea have joined the Russians.
