RIYADH (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia's appointment of Prince Muqrin as deputy crown prince is a first step towards addressing its biggest dynastic challenge for 50 years and forestalling a possible succession crisis in the world's top oil exporter.

The ruling al-Saud family is fast approaching the moment when it must decide how to jump down a generation from a line of brothers born to the country's founder King Abdulaziz to their sons and nephews, a process fraught with difficulty.

At the end of the day, all these “Saudis” are nothing but a bunch of backward, cruel, backstabbing nomads who would be spending 100% of their time in a sandy tent were it not for oil.

google Sadara project and rethink your thought.

They have taken their resources and began a process of modernization that is well under way.

Their neighbors in Dubai have the tallest building in the world.

My point was, scratch the surface and they’re nothing but a bunch of tent dwellers. Cruel, backwards and intolerant. Dont let the shiny new surface bought with the luck of geology fool you.

Human history is filled with nomadic peoples. In fact, the earliest stage of human development is the nomadic, hunter gatherer stage. Neolithic fossil evidence predates this stage to well before the much later agrarian or pastoral societies. Your point?

Saudi Arabia gets everyone else to fight their battles and destabilizers their neighbors while being an island of stability. So much of the world’s terrorism is what they want. Do we really still need their oil that badly?
