It seems to me that a "Jewish State" implies a nation state which is controlled by Jews.
And a "Jewish homeland" implies a historical condition that, once upon a time, Jews used to live around here. But that was thousands of years ago.

I see a big difference, and I see a trap.

Its basically the same thing. Secretary Kerry clarified to every one what the Arabs really oppose:

National self-determination for the Jewish people. That is exactly why in truth peace is impossible in the Middle East.

Without Arab agreement to this basic principle, the conflict will never be over.
