Putin's support for any Christians is purely opportunism and limited to rhetoric. He support the Russian Orthodox Church because he controls it and because he wants it to help him control the Russian people. He didn't spend 16 years in the KGB to become a great Christian, and he didn't accrue a personal wealth of $75 billion by practicing Christian doctrine.
