MEXICOS IMMIGRATION LAW: LETS TRY IT HERE AT HOME
By: jwaller 5/8/2006
Mexico has a radical idea for a rational immigration policy that most Americans would love. However, Mexican officials havent been sharing that idea with us.
Thats too bad, because Mexico, which annually deports more illegal aliens than the United States does, has much to teach us about how it handles the immigration issue. Under Mexican law, it is a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico.
Mexico has a single, streamlined law that ensures that foreign visitors and immigrants are: in the country legally; have the means to sustain themselves economically; not destined to be burdens on society; of economic and social benefit to society; of good character and have no criminal records; and contributors to the general well-being of the nation.
The law also ensures that: immigration authorities have a record of each foreign visitor; foreign visitors do not violate their visa status; foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the countrys internal politics;
foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported;
foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported; those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.
Who could disagree with such a law? It makes perfect sense. The Mexican constitution strictly defines the rights of citizens and the denial of many fundamental rights to non-citizens, illegal and illegal. Under the constitution, the Ley General de Población, or General Law on Population, spells out specifically the countrys immigration policy.
It is an interesting law and one that should cause us all to ask, Why is our great southern neighbor pushing us to water down our own immigration laws and policies, when its own immigration restrictions are the toughest on the continent? If a felony is a crime punishable by more than one year in prison, then Mexican law makes it a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico.
If the United States adopted such statutes, Mexico no doubt would denounce it as a manifestation of American racism and bigotry.
We looked at the immigration provisions of the Mexican constitution. [1] Now lets look at Mexicos main immigration law.
Mexico welcomes only foreigners who will be useful to Mexican society:
Foreigners are admitted into Mexico according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress. (Article 32)
Immigration officials must ensure that immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance and for their dependents. (Article 34)
Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets the equilibrium of the national demographics, when foreigners are deemed detrimental to economic or national interests, when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy. (Article 37)
The Secretary of Governance may suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he determines it to be in the national interest. (Article 38)
Mexican authorities must keep track of every single person in the country:
Federal, local and municipal police must cooperate with federal immigration authorities upon request, i.e., to assist in the arrests of illegal immigrants.

They know it perfectly well, and so does our left. Unfortunately, the double standard works for both parties-the left here gets more gibme voters and more ways to soak and impoverish the middle class, and Mexico gets to offload its poor and its criminals on us.
One party is right, the uniparty, both flavors, support ammesty at the cost to American workers and citizens, many kinds of costs.
Thank you.
now to get these facts across to those who would be in fear of reading.....here.
Oh no; Americanos can’t adopt Mexico’s “low” (as hypocrite Felipe Calderón pronounced it while criticizing Arizona in DC for the very type of law Mexico has yet less harsh) when it comes to illegal immigration. Why? Because they’re Americanos and no other reason. But Mexico can build a wall on its border with Guatemala and be way harsher with illegals than the USA ever has been in its entire history, because Mexicanos aren’t Americanos. (War on drugs aside.)
His silence on this matter makes me wonder. Couple that with his unrepented-of tribute to Nelson Mandela and I get wary.
Ted’s in a marvelous position to do so as no one...in their right mind could call him a racist.
Thank you.
Under the weak leadership from the uniparty, the vultures know where to find the carcass and start circling. Is there a country that isn’t standing in line right now for its turn to kick the downed US? Even Uganda tells us to go jump off a cliff, and we send them millions (though I applaud their stance on sodomy).
Hussein couldn’t have weakened the US more if he’d tried to, and I’m inclined to think that he did, and is trying. This is the “fundamental change” he promised-the death of America.
Certainly doesn’t look like we’re going to get someone like a Churchill in a position of leadership any time soon.
Our politicians would never allow this.
Mexican immigration and voting laws bump for later....
The position held by Liberals/Democrats is literally racist. That is what Cruz and any other serious person should scream from the rooftops.
Blacks, Mexicans and other ‘oppressed’ minorities are held to a lesser standard. They are ‘allowed’ their ‘quaint’ exceptions because white liberal Democrats do not feel they have the intelligence to fit in with enlightened white liberal Democrat society. Thus they are kept ‘separate but equal.’
Seriously. Look at the actual actions regarding what libs say they want RE minorities and people of countries like Mexico and their actions toward them. It’s ridiculously obvious and it’s the one thing that no one on the right EVER makes an issue of.
WHY NOT?
Well, I was thinking more of his outspokenness than his ethnicity. Being a “minority” conservative has never stopped the left from calling people Uncle Toms or whatever the Spanish equivalent is.
I totally ignored that disgusting charade of a homage to a commie terrorist. What did Cruz do? I won’t be disillusioned, as I have no faith, not deep down, for politicians. I keep telling people about Ben Carson’s shaky stance on the Second Amendment, and that Allen West voted for the Pigford scam, but nobody wants to know. The political right “must” have its minority conservative answer to the left, simply having unshakeable and deeply-held conservative principles isn’t good enough.
I don’t think those kinds of men exist anymore, the culture doesn’t tend to contribute to those attributes. The ones who do have such attributes, seem to stay the heck away from politics.
Cruz opposed the Rubio amnesty as far as I know and has called for enforcing the border
