You can keep a personally owned firearm on post, but there are significant rules you have to comply with to do so, including registration. If you live in the barracks you have to store your POF in the arms room.

Thought so. Thinks our kids had to declaire personal weapons off base in personal housing at Hood. That correct?

Not enforced. I kept a .38 in my room. Never registered it or kept it in the armory.
