Eight House Democrats sent a letter to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on April 1, requesting the agency reopen an investigation into the effects of fracking on groundwater contamination. Specifically, there were three major cases of suspected contamination in Wyoming, Pennsylvania, and Texas and the EPA has largely abandoned the issue and left regulation to the states. The Democrats called on the EPA to step up and protect communities in those states from the effects of fracking.
While we appreciate that states act as the major source of regulation for unconventional drilling operations, we believe the Environmental Protection Agency has a key role to play in oil and gas development. Despite the industrys exemptions from some of our bedrock environmental laws, the EPA does have the power to help ease the burden of directly impacted communities, they wrote in a letter to EPA on April 1. The letter was signed by Matt Cartwright (Pa.), Alan Lowenthal (Calif.), Jared Huffman (Calif.), Raul Grijalva (Ariz.), Keith Ellison (Minn.), David Scott (Ga.), Mark Pocan (Wis.) and Rush Holt (N.J.).

‘Rats don’t like how the EPA voted, so they want them to vote again.
Why does this sound similar to their approach to other elections?
I find it hard to believe that those Marxists at the EPA would abandon any issue they could potentially use against the hated oil lobby.
Just doing their Saudi masters bidding.
In the fight over injection wells here in Michigan I was shocked to find the EPA on the same side as myself.
They simply couldn’t find a problem with pumping water out of the ground in one place and pumping it back into the ground a few miles away.
I just wished that there was an major earthquake around when the guys named in the article were all in the same room.
Bingo!
The Dems just can't handle the truth!
The DIM-ocrats want to shut down the country. Piss on ‘em.
A calculation repeated over and over until a predetermined result is achieved.
Let the Democrats light farts after eating a bean casserole....
As they ride back and forth to the House chambers in their gasoline powered limosines at 4 miles per gallon.
Texas should definitely shut off any pipelines going to the states of these Democrat fools. Let their states harness the hot air these windbags produce and all will be comfortable.
One of the few bright spots in our economy and these idiots want to extinguish it.
Just doing their Saudi masters bidding
Exactly..Keith Ellison-who does he think he’s kidding. The Saudis are paying off the dems to do all they can to prevent fracking in my opinion and the money is endless. I can’t wait until BO presidency is over.
IIRC the saudis were spending 250 million plus in DC bribes. The game goes on no matter who’s there.
The EPA MUST be reined in. I have no idea how they became so powerful, but it has to stop. They, if they have a problem, should be required to report that problem to congress who would then consider it and act on it...to have a federal agency deciding whether or not a mud puddle in your back yard is a “wetland” is asinine.
“I just wished that there was an major earthquake around when the guys named in the article were all in the same room.”
I would suggest that a tsunami or a drone strike with a Hellfire missile would be more effective and therefore more desirable.
If they don’t “extinguish it”, the Saudis will stop writing checks to fund their re-election campaigns.
“I would suggest that a tsunami or a drone strike with a Hellfire missile would be more effective and therefore more desirable.”
Now there you go, now the NSA knows how we both really feel!!
