Alaska State Troopers said a 24-year-old Homer man fatally shot himself with a trooper's pistol during a struggle Wednesday night.
About 10:17 p.m., a woman reported to troopers that her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her at her home on East End Road near Homer, according to a trooper dispatch posted Thursday morning

Hmmm. How many times did he shoot himself and was it in the back of his head? Did his dog get shot too?
I’ve been to Homer. Pretty damned remote. I suspect it’s a little rough living during the winters. Long cold dark nights leads to people spending a lot of time cooped up with each other.
Was he handcuffed in the back seat of the the police car at the time?
That’s usually when they kill themselves.
I think he shot himself 8 times then got the cop’s partner’s gun and shot himself 6 more times. I might be wrong.

Consider this dummies, why would the cop even use his taser or OC spray when he could have just shot the guy in the first place?
