DENVER (AP) — Denver's mayor will visit Amsterdam next week partly to learn about marijuana regulation in the country that led the way in pot liberalization.

The city announced Thursday that Michael Hancock and other officials plan to meet with representatives of Amsterdam's municipal government during a trip mainly focused on economic development.

The irony is that he will learn about how the large Third World Muslim population is protesting to shut all this down. It will all disappear within a decade or two and all the strung out hookers who lay around outside of the pot shops will be in burquas or executed.

—Denver Post this am had a piece on the Wyoming college student who jumped out a window after a pot brownie—another piece called for study of “ingested” marijuana and its effects—not enough knowledge on the subject——

Amsterdam of the West. Is this really what Colorado wants to be known for?

Where did that lie come from?

I don’t know how the Dutch are going to regulate legal weed. When I was in NL it seemed to be mostly tourists smoking weed in the coffee shops. It just wasn’t a big deal for locals. Coffee shops outside of Amsterdam were empty when I walked by them.

In the series The Wire, Amsterdam is the arrest free zone established surreptitiously by a police commander for dealers in hi zone to sell drugs free of arrest. His crime rate in his neighborhood zone fell precipitously.

In Amsterdam at first, buyers were hauled in in paddy wagons til they learned where to come. They (customers)came.

Then the deserted row houses began to be occupied and then there were lots of children. Young boys that were formerly employed as fuses, cut outs, in the drug sale transaction became unemployed. with no fear of arrest, there was no need for juvies to be involved in the transaction .Then a preacher noted what was happening and began to minister to the now large population. Other social services noted his effort and began. One such went person to person handing out condoms.

In short, the whole urban scene soon showed up in Amsterdam.

The neighborhoods were now crime free

I study “The Wire”. Set in Baltimore,it is excellent TV and a great commentary on the terrible destruction wrought on our cities by all involved.

I recommend it for watching from the very beginning episode 1 year 1. It features mostly the same characters as they grow or fail over a period of a few years.

Oh, yeah, and all the druggie hippie trash outside the main train station.

We made the mistake of trying to take the kids to a McDonald's in Amsterdam....

"WHOA! Everyone turn around...Nothing to see on THIS street... eyes ahead, move along quickly..."

"But Daddy, you promised us a Big Mac!"

--my mistake--humblest apologies--

-The tragic death of a 19-year-old college student who leaped off a balcony after eating marijuana-infused cookies points to the need for more and better information about marijuana edibles. -
