LAYOFFS: NEW JERSEY'S STAR-LEDGER WIPES OUT 25% OF NEWSROOM

New Jersey's largest newspaper, the Star-Ledger, has announced that it will wipe out 25% of its newsroom staff with the elimination of 167 jobs, 40 of which are newsroom jobs that make up 25% of that staff. Of the Star-Ledger's current staff of 750, the only staffers being spared are among those who are unionized. Apparently existing labor contracts protected every single union member from the axe.

In 2012, the Star-Ledger endorsed Barack Obama over his Republican rival Mitt Romney for re-election as president. The editorial board based its endorsement in part on Obama's handling of the economy.

New Jersey.com reports that at the Star-Ledger "whole offices now stand vacant, attesting to tremendous loss of personnel through buyouts and earlier layoffs[.]"

They can always go down to the bus station or a nearby truck stop and have sex for a living. They’ve got considerable experience as prostitutes.

There is so much unaccountable federal and state dollars that will be funneled under the radar to keep their MSM buddies in operation.

Well... There's that $6 Billion that PIAPS 'lost' while head of State...

Which one of the media cartels owns and controls the Star-Ledger?

Gannett, I think.

Not unless Gannet owns Advance Publications.

"Advance Publications, Inc., is an American media company owned by the descendants of S.I. Newhouse Sr., Donald Newhouse and S.I. Newhouse, Jr. It is named after the Staten Island Advance, the first newspaper owned by the Newhouse family, and where the mailing address for Advance Publications is listed on paper (although Advance does not have an official headquarters). As of November 2012, it was ranked as the 52nd largest private company in the United States according to Forbes." source

I know, I’m antiquated. . .I like to hold a paper in my hands, sip my morning coffee, watch the sun come up, do the crossword, etc.
Later, I wake my wife.

Some are still not totally in the “Digital Age”.

Wish you well

Try swatting a fly with your i-pad. Or lining a bird cage, wrapping fish, etc.

Sorry that I am so long in my reply.

Maybe I’ll try out one of those iPad thingys one of these days. For now, I will continue to swat flies with my (actual paper) newspaper or the windshield of my RoadKing.

Wish you well.
