White House Signals Pause in Mideast Talks
President to Discuss Next Moves When Secretary of State Returns By Carol E. Lee And Jay Solomon Updated April 4, 2014 2:31 p.m. ET
WASHINGTON—The White House signaled an indefinite pause in Middle East peace talks Friday, as Secretary of State John Kerry said it was time for "reality check" and suggested he might pull back from mediating between Israel and the Palestinians.
Mr. Kerry was returning to Washington following an overseas trip in which he abruptly canceled a planned visit to meet with Palestinian leaders after talks broke down when both sides took steps that were objectionable to the other.
The White House said Mr. Kerry would meet with President Barack Obama to discuss next steps in the process, the administration's centerpiece foreign policy effort.
Mr. Obama will discuss next steps in the process when Secretary of State John Kerry returns to Washington from a trip abroad during which he was forced to cancel a stop in the Middle East.
"There's no doubt that we have reached a point where the Palestinian leaders and the Israeli leaders need to spend some time thinking about making some very difficult decisions," White House spokesman Josh Earnest said.
At the same time, Mr. Obama is reconsidering how much political capital he will continue to spend on the issue, given that the U.S. faces "a range of challenges" elsewhere, Mr. Earnest said.
The comments by Mr. Kerry and White House represent the dimmest view in months on the Mideast peace process, pointing to re-evaluation that follows a heavy investment in talks by the Obama administration.

that will make them look good, anything that will make

GOOD! Kerry’s proposals would only have led to the destruction of Israel and the murder of all of its Christians and Jews by the enemy IslamoNazis... who are STILL SWORN to destroy Israel and who STILL KEEP TELLING US they will NOT live in peace with the Jewish state (no matter if Obama squeezed it into one room at the Tel Aviv Hilton!)
Kerry’s proposals were leading in exactly the wrong direction.
It is good that this (dangerous) farce is being ended now.
Maybe in 100 years or so, the Islamicists will decide they can live with Christians and Jews, after all. Or maybe not. Right now, we know their murderous intentions.
Israel needs to stay strong and continue building her little country and providing good homes for her people.
And Kerry needs to come home to USA and find a job doing something else that he can actually do successfully.. and which does not depend any “policy” type “thinking”....(selling ketchup on late night boobtoob infomercials?)
Israel is no doubt pleased because having Kerry try and make history on the corpses of Israelis must not be popular in Israel.

Apparently, a number of important Democratic Jewish donors have gotten so fed up with the never-ending Obama-Kerry Israel bashing that they’ve threatened to withhold campaign contributions during this election year unless the peace talks were stopped.
