I haven’t read the latest version but I think it says that the only exception is if the building provides adequate screening. For example, the court house where I practice has a very strict screening as you go in. I have to take off my shoes and sometimes my jewelry. Very annoying. I think they get to keep the no guns allowed. But my church can’t. Yay.

“We don’t (like?)the feds imposing their will on us. We shouldn’t be doing that to the local jurisdictions,” said Rep. Carolyn Bridges, a Wichita Democrat.”

I call bullsh*t on this one. Do you honestly believe this Dem would oppose confiscatory Federal gunlaws? She would LOVE them. She voted AGAINST a provision that would have prhobited the enforcement of federal gun laws.

It won’t mean a thing in some jurisdictions, unless the state AG declares that he will prosecute any police officer who violates a citizen’s gun rights.

Now that is what I call a “common sense” gun law.

This is what they did in Florida to keep busybodies in county governments from passing laws against using cell phones while driving.

This sounds terrible. The more remote the lawmakers are, the harder it is to get rid of bad laws. I’d rather be able to vote down a locally elected politician or two than have to overturn the makeup of the entire state legislature.

Look what happened in next door Colorado to see exactly what I mean. We’ve been able to remove some of the state legislators who voted in favor of the gun control laws last year, but the laws remain.
