"Why is Maine waiting till June 12, 2018 to vote on secession???" The second Tuesday in June is primary day, otherwise it is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Since the Second Tuesday in June is going to be the official voting day in the Republic, we want the vote to create the Republic on that day.
